About the role  

We are currently recruiting a Zone Substation Senior Electrical Technician, to join our Transmission South West team. Preferred locations would be within the Riverina or South West areas of NSW. 

The Zone Substation Senior Electrical Technician will be responsible for undertaking High Voltage test work, looking after the Southern area of NSW . The tasks completed are not limited to but include the High Voltage testing of MEWP's used for Live Line work, live line equipment, HV operating equipment such as operating sticks & earths, insulating mats etc. This work is completed to a schedule to maintain compliance. 

This role will include a lot of travel and working away from home throughout the week. 

About You

You will be an experienced Electrician able to demonstrate practical application of the qualification for this role. You will have experience in complying with and promoting Occupational Health and Safety values, environmental needs, quality needs and in the practice of the technical aspects of the Zone Substation Senior Technician role. This position will involve travel, willingness to work away.

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Trade qualified Electrician with a current electrical licence 
  • Driver’s licence 
  • WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate 
  • Diploma in ESI Power Systems with preferred electives in Testing Systems (desirable) 
  • High voltage, transmission or power systems experience (desirable) 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment 
  • Basic skills in computer operations
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate electronically in writing and liaise with stakeholders and customers in an amicable manner.
