Overall Role Purpose
The Delivery Driver is responsible for:
- Transportation and delivery of satchels, cartons, or goods, to their designated locations efficiently and safely.
- Maintaining the integrity of the products during transportation, and timely return of goods back to the depot to make transfer connection.
- Being customer focused – connecting people through excellent customer service.
Overall Role Purpose
The Freight Handler is responsible for:
- Efficient and safe movement of goods.
- Timely delivery of goods by onforwarding freight to the next destination in the network.
- Being team focused – connecting people through excellent teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles (Car licence minimum), and other transport equipment to deliver products to customers.
- Plan delivery route and ensure that deliveries are made in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load and unload goods safely and securely, and ensure that products are transported in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Communicate with customers, in line with company values.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any defects or problems to maintenance team.
- Ensure accurate information is presented through correct scanning and proof of deliveries.
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
- Loading and unloading packages, parcels, and goods from the vehicle.
- Verify and document the condition and quantity of freight before and after handling.
- Maintain accurate scan records through the Transport Management System
Skills
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a manual vehicle is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude.
- Safe driving – to safely operate a vehicle in all weather and road conditions.
