THE OPPORTUNITY

We are searching for a skilled Vac Truck Operator that is local to Karratha to join our Core Crew team for an ongoing permanent position. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a great team in a rapidly expanding business. You will be based at our Karratha Workshop and required to work at various sites throughout the Pilbara.

This role will require the successful applicant to be a local resident to Karratha or Dampier.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Operating vacuum truck and equipment for various industrial services, including non-destructive digging / potholing and service detection.
  • Maintaining clean equipment, operating vehicle and working area.
  • Backfilling of excavations.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vacuum truck and adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Performing pre- and post-operation checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Conducting abrasive blasting to clean or prepare surfaces.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Local Resident to Karratha or the surrounding areas (mandatory)
  • Proof of Right to work in Australia (mandatory)
  • Current and Valid Australian Drivers Licence (HR class mandatory)
  • Minimum of 2 years Vac Truck Operation experience (desirable)
  • Minimum of 3 years working in the mining / resource sector (mandatory)
  • MSIC (desirable)
  • Valid White Card.
  • High Pressure water blasting ticket (desirable)
  • Confined Space and Work at Heights training (desirable)
  • Prior experience using Vacuum Excavation units - Non-Destructive Digging is preferred but not essential
  • Civil Experience (Loader/Excavator etc) (highly regarded)
  • Abrasive Blasting experience (highly regarded)
  • Excellent attitude to safety
  • Flexible attitude to work within all our crews and to assist with other duties outside your scope
  • Able to Work Autonomously as well in a team
  • Able to follow instructions and show initiative
  • Safety and process-focused, and willing to input and continually improve the process
  • Successful applicant is required to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
