 The Role 

We are looking for an Urgent Care Practice Nurse to join our LOCATION Urgent Care Service. You will be a key team member who will be responsible for ensuring all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as being appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care medical practitioner.

 The Tasks 

  • Responsible for Triage of all patients who present to Urgent Care by performing comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments.
  • Take appropriate action for any triaged patients who require escalation due to an emergency presentation or deterioration of illness or injury.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability for the dynamic Urgent Care environment.
  • Provide high quality person centred care activities relating to patient’s injury or illness in collaboration with the patients, families, carers and the medical practitioner.
  • Responsible for ensuring patients receive desired clinical outcomes.
  • Provide health education to patients as required.
  • Complete all documentation promptly and accurately.

 

 The Successful Candidate

  • AHPRA Registered Nurse.  
  • You will be required to provide a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Previous experience in triage in an emergency department, preferably 1 year minimum.
  • 3 years’ experience as an RN preferred.
  • Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written and a high level of critical thinking.
  • Can work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
  • A passion for people with a personable approach.
