The Opportunity:


As a Store Person/Small Tools Mechanic, you will be responsible for the efficient management of our tool store.


Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will utilise your extensive experience, skills and mechanical ‘know how’ to service and repair our extensive tool inventory including chainsaws, pole saws, hedgers and other frequently used small tools.


 


 


Key Responsibilities:


Store Management:



  • Receive, check, and organise incoming stock.

  • Maintain & monitor an accurate inventory of tools, equipment and stock levels.



  • Ensuring that the store is organised, tools are well-maintained, and any repairs are carried out promptly to minimise downtime.



  • Allocation of store items in line with the daily schedule.



  • Consumables, uniforms and PPE stocktake.

  • Maintain set stock levels of all consumables, uniforms and PPE


 


Small Tools Mechanic:



  • Inspect, maintain, and repair small tools and equipment, including but not limited to drills, grinders, saws, and other hand-held devices.

  • Test tools after repair to ensure they are functioning properly.

  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.


 


This is a unique role and easy transition for the right person, with either stores or small tools experience.  You passion to fix anything mechanical, a keen desire to learn and a readiness to get your hands dirty, will see you succeed in this role, as will your ability to provide exceptional customer service.


 




Qualifications, Skills & Experience:



  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in tool maintenance and repair.

  • Strong knowledge of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment.

  • HC Licence would be advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Knowledge of small tool maintenance

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Computer and technology literacy (to use catalogues on iPads and learn application functions).
