As part of the School of Veterinary Science which is ranked #1 in the Southern Hemisphere, the Wildlife Health and Conservation Hospital work closely with rescue and rehabilitation groups, the public, and general veterinary practices whilst providing a clinical learning experience for veterinary students.
In the Staff Veterinarian - Wildlife position, you will provide best-practice veterinary care to first-opinion and referred clients of the Wildlife Hospital which provides medical and surgical care to over 700 wildlife cases per year. The position is responsible for sole-charge of the WHCH on weekends, therefore prior experience working with wildlife in a clinical setting is essential.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide high quality first and second opinion veterinary care for wildlife attending the service including consultations, surgery and medical treatment appropriate to the presenting needs on weekends
provide support and direction for the undergraduate interns/DVM students
ensure effective billing practices in the Wildlife Hospital
About you

experience working with wildlife rehabilitation, native animal care
a degree in veterinary science registrable in NSW (or equivalent)
experience working in a busy service-oriented environment
sound diagnostic and therapeutic clinical skills in medicine and surgery
the ability to work independently and within a team environment
excellent verbal and written communication skills
the desire to provide best-practice principals in provision of veterinary services
a valid full drivers licence and vehicle.
