About the role

Great opportunity to get in on the ground level with Solenis.  We need an enthusiastic reliable and energetic personality to work with and support our Technical sales team.  You will be required to perform laboratory testing, inventory management, equipment checks and basic maintenance, conducting service reports, and communicating effectively with customers, sales team and internal departments.

You’ll need to be “hands on” but also have a keen eye for detail. The role is based at the Norske Skog Boyer Mill in Hobart, TAS and full training will be provided. 

No qualification required. Trade certificate or degree in chemistry/science would be highly regarded, as would prior experience in the paper industry.  More about the role but not limited to:

• Immediate start
• Full time role
• Based in the Hobart, TAS
• Field based role on customer site
• Maintain all chemical stock levels on site
• Order chemical stock as required.
• Sample and test process tanks as required. Report and correct any faults.
• Record all test and monitoring results and enter into record keeping system.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role and a key contributor to our commercial team, you will need the following:

• Current Australian driving license – essential
• Trade certificate or degree in chemistry/science would be highly regarded
• Prior experience in the paper industry highly regarded
• Must be confident in working for long periods unsupervised
• Must be fully computer literate, i.e. MS Office suite tools
• Must be comfortable working at heights
• Must be able to maintain basic equipment – mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrates safe work practices and can identify hazards
• Self starter and ability to manage and prioritise own workload
• Demonstrated ability to undertake tasks of a repetitive nature
