The Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst to help support our business. Based in Melbourne, this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support the Group Tax team on ANZ and Group reporting matters in line with Group’s Tax risk management

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of all income tax compliance (income tax returns and tax effect accounting) obligations for entities in the ANZ region; 
  • Ensure SMEC Group Tax reporting is timely and accurate; including review of tax provisions
  • Assisting in the management of the Group Effective Tax Rate
  • Review of intercompany allocation of costs
  • Assist with transfer pricing requests and information analysis
  • Assist the Group Tax manager help provide tax advice on projects
  • Assist with any other ad hoc tax queries as required including responding to queries from revenue authorities.

About You
Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role within a corporate environment with exposure to tax accounting
  • Working knowledge of tax accounting procedures and strong financial administration skills
  • Establish strong business relationships within a group environment and beyond to ensure efficient delivery of outputs
  • Ability to produce quality outcomes within an environment with competing demands and tight deadlines whilst dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with an interest in process improvement
