Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Functional Manager within Mechanical, you will join an Australia wide team that is based in Perth & Brisbane. Our teams are actively working collaboratively across a diverse range of engineering packages from conceptual studies through to EPCM delivery for local & international developments.

This role will see you join a project team for one of Europe largest and most sustainable Greenfields battery metal processing facilities, early works are commencing now as we head into EPCM in September 2024. This project has been identified as a significant steppingstone for Europe's establishment of intergraded value chain the batter metal production space. A complex and technically advanced processing methodology this project will provide opportunity to broaden both your skills technically and professionally as you engage with varied international parties. 

As a Senior your will play an integral member of the engineering team and as part of this role, key accountabilities will include: 

  • Establishes detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill the requirements of assigned general specifications for components, systems, processes, etc
  • Supports the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework
  • Continuous promotion of and, adherence to the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement
  • Active participation in design reviews, interpreting specifications and investigating difficulties
  • In times may deliver small-scale projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risk, while working within an established program management plan – 
  • Provide technical input and support to proposals as required
  • Ensures continuous commitment to safety & HSE requirements, participating in or leads incident investigations as required 
  • Actively uphold and encourage a collaborative & supportive work environment

Qualifications

About You

This opportunity is looking for those who are interested in building their engineering careers in resources sector, ready to take on their next challenge working with global leading large-scale projects & portfolio engineering support for sustaining capital work programs.   

You will have: 

  • Bachelor/Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineer from a recognised institute, with prior engineering design experience in wet/dry plant processing or relative industry exposure
  • Prior experience in projects across hydrometallurgical facilities will be desired, lithium ideal not essential
  • Ability to initiate the exchange of required technical concepts and information with the Design team and other disciplines.
  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team and suggestions for departmental standards
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively manage resources (personnel, equipment, materials etc)
  • Experienced in coaching, mentoring junior engineers. Creating a cohesive working environment
  • Displays agility in delivery, with ability to adapt and troubleshoot solutions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for inter-departmental and external company interactions
  • A commitment to upholding and driving Safety/HSE standards personally and professionally.
