Rural Locum Assistance Program is a subsidiary of the Aspen Medical Group - an Australian-owned, multi award-winning, global provider of innovative healthcare solutions.

Rural LAP is a component of the Australian Government’s rural workforce capacity agenda. We support eligible aged care workers, nurses, midwives, obstetricians, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals.

We are looking for skilled and flexible Registered Nurses who are ready to deploy on a casual basis to Multipurpose Service (MPS) facilities around Rural and Remote Australia. This is a unique opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to make a real difference where it is needed.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members at the facility.
  • Frequent local, regional, remote, or interstate travel.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time experience working in a rural multi-purpose facility, including significant experience in Emergency Care, Primary Health Care, and General Ward areas.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Evidence of Manual Handling training.
  • Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with evidence of a practical component.
  • Ability to remain calm and operate effectively in an unstructured, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, compassionate and a team player.
