Your Position at St John of God Berwick Hospital
You will be an integral member of a nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients at St John of God Berwick, their families and significant others. This care will be provided in collaboration with all members of the health care team including medical practitioners and allied health practitioners. This care will be guided by a working knowledge of hospital policies including O H & S, Infection Control, Waste management and Quality Improvement.
We have this position avaliable with our Surgical Ward. 3East surgical ward has 28 beds for a patient who requires post-operative care after having a surgical intervention/procedure. The main area of specialties on 3East surgical ward are colorectal, ENT (including paediatric patients), general surgeries, plastic surgeries, gastroenterology, vascular surgeries, gynaecology, urogynaecology, urology, and ophthalmology.
The Position
Embrace a competency driven practise utilising nationally recognised competencies to support care delivery i.e. ANCI.
Develop a nursing care plan for patients following an assessment of their condition and needs including risk assessment
Involve patients and where practicable, their families or significant others in the planning of their care.
Ensure that all documentation relating to Patient Care and Clinical Pathways is maintained in an accurate and compliant manner.
Participate in professional activities relating to and updating clinical skills including attending in-service and further education opportunities
Participate in the documentation of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for activities that could pose an OHS risk
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered/Nurse Midwife, a demonstrated expereince in Surgical unit and understand legislation and standards related to OH&S, Compliance issues, Workcover.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

The Benefits
Salary: $67,087 to $94,754 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation
