About the role

Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Registered Nurse role assists in the provision of high-quality care and support for our patients within our purpose built surgical/ HDU unit.

As the Registered Nurse your role will include:

  • Specialising in the treatment and education of fellow employees, patients and their families with regard to treatment protocols
  • Ensuring all direct clinical nursing care is undertaken during your shift with regular, critical communication between you and your fellow colleagues
  • Optimising patient care through active participation in all patient care and safety processes
  • Demonstrating the ability to conduct nursing practice in a manner that respects the rights of individuals and groups in accordance with all relevant standards, regulations and legislation

Your skills & experience

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Experience working within HDU/ Surgical with HDU experience being desirable but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate;
  • Well-developed leadership skills within a team environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Flexible and available to work all shifts on a rotating roster.

Our Surgical Unit operates Monday – Sunday, we have permanent part-time positions available (64 hours/fortnight – shift work), based at our St Vincent’s Lismore campus.
