We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for 21 bed, not-for-profit aged care facility located at Barraba -  an hour North of Tamworth in NSW.  This facility was built by the community for the community and prides itself on providing care for the elders of the community.

In collaboration with the Clinical Care Coordinator and Care Staff the Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to the Residents of the Facility.

The position is full time 80 hours a fortnight with an RDO once a month. Hours will be worked over a variety of shifts that are subject to regular change to suit the operations of the facility.  The pay rate is between $35 and $45 per hour (depending on number of years’ experience). There will also be a relocation incentive available for the successful applicant.


Requirements


  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (at least 3 years experience preferred but not essential)
  • Current National Police Clearance (or ability to acquire)
  • Computer Literacy
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Experience working with the elderly (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards and Charter of Aged Care Right
The applicant must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Perform appropriate clinical practice and clinical leadership
  • Deliver coordinated care to Residents through application of nursing skills and knowledge and in accordance with Care Standards including complex health care, therapeutic massage and wound care.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, General Practitioners, Health Professionals and Service Providers
  • Understand and work with Residents with complex health needs including dementia
  • Comply with all relevant legislative requirements pertaining to care delivery
  • Record accurate documentation relating to care of the Resident
  • Provide Medication Administration and management consistent with guidelines
  • Provide support for palliative Residents and their families
  • Perform all clinical and care duties pertaining to the support of Aged Care Residents
  • Comply and meet obligations relating to Work Health and Safety legislation
