We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a small not- for -profit residential aged care facility, servicing Hillston and surrounding communities. Aged care experience is a prerequisite.

Requirements

Β Essential Qualifications:
  • Division 1 Registered Nurse
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • New Graduates will also be considered.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Palliative Care
  • Wound Care
  • Computer literacy

Role Statement:

To provide optimal clinical care to people within the RACFs, which meets the consumer’s needs and those of their family and carers:

  • Apply recognised standards of assessment, identification of goals, management of these goals, evaluation and follow up.
  • Apply best practice principles to clinical care.
  • Deliver an equitable standard of care regardless of consumers and colleagues’ different values, beliefs, culture, and social context.
  • Recognise and practise within scope of his/her own practice.
  • Readily seek feedback regarding own standard of practice.
  • Ensure consumer confidentiality.
  • Assess and interpret clinical indicators of general health status and apply this information to guide clinical decisions. Report any abnormalities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of consumer assessment and goals
  • Liaise with doctor, who is the primary care giver and other members of the consumers’ multidisciplinary team and participate in case conferencing and care plans for the consumer.
  • Provide a safe environment for consumers and staff and promote safe practice requirements, i.e., /infection control, or sharps disposal.
  • To participate in Quality Assurance and Accreditation Activities occurring within the medical practice, with a focus on community and aged care:
  • Contribute to accreditation activities as advised by management staff.
  • Seek support from colleagues to identify learning needs.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing educational activities.
  • Be aware of local aged care services and maintain contact and create partnership with these agencies.
  • Participate in information sessions organised by agencies & ACAT team.
  • Provide support to practice management in the following areas:
  • Computer skills- appointments/recalls/data entry
  • Accreditation
