Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

You will is responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and the coordination and supervision of care delivered by junior staff and students.

This position is available with Cardiac Care Unit, Our cardiac services diagnose and treat heart-related conditions, such as heart attack, coronary artery disease, heart arrhythmia, valvular heart disease and heart infections.

The successful candidate(s) will have:

  • The overseeing of total patient care.
  • Being aware of all patient’s needs, conditions, and progress.
  • Being in contact with patients throughout the shift.
  • Ensuring all patient needs are met.
  • Involving patients in their own care and decision making.
  • Ensuring nursing care is carried out and documented using nursing history, care plans and / or care pathway.
  • Ensuring medical treatment requests are carried out and documented properly, consulting with doctors if unclear.
  • Ensuring that nursing activities are planned and carried out in an organised manner.
  • Maintain & continue to improve technical skills such as the interpretation of ECG’s, insertion of intravenous cannulae, chest pain management, & other skills relating to Critical Care.

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and Ability to use his / her initiative, demonstrate reliability and thereby require minimal supervision and guidance.

To succeed you will appropriate skills and competencies related to Cardiac Services and ability to work independently with a team environment.

  • Salary $39.50 per hour to $55.79 per hour (includes causal loading) + 11.5% superannuation
