We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our close-knit team at our Mandurah Oncology clinic on a casual basis.
You will provide clinical care, education and support the delivery of an exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are a multi-skilled oncology team who work between radiation oncology and medical oncology.
We are currently accepting applications from those who are interested in casual hours.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
- Interact with patients and undertake education, wound management, and drug administration.
- Effectively manage nursing patient load.
- Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff.
- Provide patient feedback to the doctors and radiation therapy staff.
- Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned.
- Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice medical oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
- Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence.
- Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool.
- Support the clinical introduction of new medications / drugs and nursing products by demonstrating knowledge and application in the patient care setting.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Medical oncology and chemotherapy administration experience in a clinical setting with 2 years’ experience is desirable.
- Clinical experience as a nurse with demonstrated understanding of oncology and the ability to liaise with allied health care.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.
- Strong commitment to quality patient care.
- Interest in continuing your professional development.
- Wound care management experience.
- Ability to use electronic clinical administration systems, as well as MS Office is highly preferred.
- We are a multi-skilled oncology team who work between radiation oncology and medical oncology, radiation oncology experience desirable but not essential as training can be given.
