Clough, as part of a joint venture, is delivering the Project Ceres urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.


We are currently searching for a Principal Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join our team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for technical design deliverables working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely, cost effective and fit for purpose engineering and design output complying with company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of technically acceptable engineering design services for approved work to ensure the development of high levels of client satisfaction and Clough’s business needs.

  • Work with technical specialists to ensure specification compliance, technical integrity of design (technical performance).

  • Prepare, check and file design information including documents and data from suppliers and other disciplines.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of systems across the division.

  • Manage customer relations to achieve mutually satisfactory and technical program outcomes.

  • Liaise regularly with manager to report progress, areas of concern / issues and potential changes.

  • Be a proactive member of the team, prepared to work outside conventional boundaries in cooperation with other team members to ensure complete coverage of each work scope.

  • Manage and coordinate design effort of team reports to achieve satisfactory outcomes (project performance).

  • Manage and improve work performance of direct reports including MPOE, development plans and skill / capability development in line with Clough’s competency framework.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork within the discipline and wider organisation.

  • Brief design engineers on scope of work, contractual matters, design organisation, project schedule and change control.

  • Provide construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support to projects as required.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Lead.

  • Major projects experience.

  • Exposure to EPC type lump sum and reimbursable projects.

  • Experience leading and managing a team.
