Brite is seeking a motivated and dedicated team member to join our Plants Department on a 6-month fixed-term basis, 3 days per week (7.5 hours per day). The Brite Plants Team Member has responsibility for the achievement of production goals and meeting deadlines for customer orders.Β

The Brite Plants Nursery Team Member will:Β

Working at BriteΒ 

Working at Brite often requires working alongside vulnerable people. Due to the nature of our work, we require all team members to complete a NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Screening Clearance and Working with Children Check.

      Position responsibilities

      General NurseryΒ 

      • Interprets orders to organise and set up jobsΒ 
      • Organises appropriate equipment and machinery to run productionΒ 
      • Assist plants production team with weeding and maintenance of plants when .Β 
      • Assist team with general nursery maintenance tasks.Β Β 
      • Liaise with plants team to meet production requirements.Β 
      • Monitors production processes and where necessary modifies to improve efficiency.Β 
      • Monitors and maintains quality standards.Β 
      • Picking and clean-up of orders for customer ensuring quality standards are metΒ 
      • Follows safety policies and procedures and maintains safety standardsΒ 
      • Trouble shoots and problem solves routine day to day operational mattersΒ 
      • Maintain an aesthetically pleasing working areaΒ 
      • Assist with updating and maintaining current plant inventoryΒ 


      Knowledge, skills, and experienceΒ 

      Β EssentialΒ 

      • Relevant Horticultural experience (evidence of) or qualificationsΒ 
      • Great teamwork skillsΒ 
      • Have the ability to work autonomously under limited supervision.Β 
      • Elevated level of judgement and problem-solving skills.Β 
      • Proven ability to set workplace priorities.Β 

      DesirableΒ 

      • Basic Experience in working with people with disabilities, preferably within a disability employment service.Β 
      • Computer literate and abreast of current technology.Β 


      Β Additional requirementsΒ 

      • Current Drivers Licence.Β 
      • NDIS Working Screening Clearance and Working with Children check.Β 
      • Physical Fitness RequirementsΒ 
        • Lifting and carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy pots, bags of soil, plants, and other nursery items. For example, lifting pots weighing up to 20 kilograms and carrying them short distancesΒ 
        • Bending and stooping: Ability to bend, stoop, and squat repeatedly, as nursery work often involves tending to plants at ground level or in lower shelves.Β Β 
        • Walking and standing: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as nursery work involves moving around the nursery to water plants, organize stock, and assist customers.Β Β 
        • Pushing and pulling: Ability to push and pull carts or trolleys loaded with plants or supplies around the nursery.Β 
        • A medical exam is a requirement for Full-time or Part-time positions.Β
