We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent physiotherapist an 89 bed residential aged care facility based in Kalgoorlie for one of the largest providers of aged care services and retirement living for West Australians.
Key Responsibilities
Provides assessments for resident mobility, falls risk and related musculo skeletal and neurological conditions.
Formulates treatment objectives for the purpose of restoration or maintenance of function.
Frequently reviews treatment objectives to ensure their continued application.
Implements and supervises pain management clinics. Provides treatment programs to address problems of movement and/or, function on an individual or group basis.
Records treatment results and disseminates information to all relevant treatment personnel.
Consults on the selection of aids and equipment for specific and general use.
Evaluates effectiveness of physiotherapy programs.
Liaises with Service/Centre Operations Manager, and caring staff on matters pertinent to the physiotherapy program.
Supervises physiotherapy assistants/students and work experience personnel.
Contributes to the preparation of annual physiotherapy budgets.
Maintains timely and accurate documentation including ACFI reporting.
Initial assessment of resident on admission, and annual review and when required.
Ensures required records are maintained.
Orders materials and supplies in conjunction with Service/Centre Operations Manager.
Ensures maintenance and economic and safe use of all resources and equipment.
Participates in professional development activities including mandatory requirements.
Effectively communicates with a variety of people, including the public and other health professionals.
Participates in Quality Improvement Programs.
Participates in ensuring a workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Requirements
Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) Degree
Registration with AHPRA
MSuccessful completion of the key physical requirements assessment
Proven organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as required
Previous experience working with people with dementia within the aged care industry
