The health services at Clarence Correctional Centre has 3 modern health centers that deliver appropriate health care standards to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures. You will provide leadership and advice as well as monitor and suggest recommendations on internal and external environmental influences to ensure health services can meet patient needs.

About Clarence Correctional Centre 

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia. 

Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, dunes, and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns.

The role involves a comprehensive and accurate assessment of patients, including creating individualised care plans. Responsibilities also include writing prescriptions for specific medications, diagnosing and treating acute infections, injuries, and illnesses as appropriate, and conducting and ordering diagnostic tests. Additionally, the position requires consulting with patients about effectively managing their health, designing treatment plans, recommending care, and providing sufficient education.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA 
  • Master of Nursing Practice 
  • Minimum of 3-years full-time experience in an advanced practice nursing role
  • Endorsed by NMBA and able to prescribe (within your scope of practice)
