We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our team.  Your expertise will contribute directly to the safety and efficiency of our mining activities, making you an essential part of our mission to uphold the highest standards in mining safety.

The role:

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Mining Engineer will ensure that safe and efficient mine plans are delivered for the operation ranging from day-to-day to three months. Your efforts will be pivotal in delivering maximum benefit to the operation, optimising both safety and efficiency in our mining activities. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing efficient and practical mine designs and schedules with a focus on 0 - 3 month timeframe

  • Working closely with the Short-Term Mine planning team and production team to ensure plan inputs are accurate

  • Communicating designs/plans effectively with the production team

  • Completing reconciliations for performance against plans

  • Assessing opportunities for improvements in operational efficiency

  • Good time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities

  • Self-motivated and can work with a wide range of people across various mining departments

  • Supporting visible leadership that contributes to a safe workplace

About you:

  • Experience in open cut mining

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining related discipline

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and CAD based design packages

  • Ability to build and foster strong working relationships across multiple departments and organisational levels

  • High commitment to safety, hazard awareness and risk management
