The Role

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist and working as part of the mining team, you will be responsible for collecting detailed geological and grade control information in manner that exceeds industry standards.

This is a permanent fulltime role offered on an 8:6 roster that can be DIDO, Residential OR FIFO from Brisbane or Sunshine Coast!

What You’ll Do  

  • Learn, develop and use the mine geological processes in a manner that achieves and or exceeds specified goals, cost and safety targets.
  • Supervise the collection and interpretation of geological and structural data to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and standards (JORC and EVN internal controls).
  • Ensure that the Geology team supports the Mining Department to optimise the extraction of the mineral resource.
  • Develop, maintain and validate mineral resource models, grade control systems and geological databases.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of monthly grade control underground tonnes and grade on a monthly bias.
  • Complete end of month reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
  • Plan and supervise effective grade control and resource development programs and ensure that quality control is maintained at the highest possible level.
  • Plan and implement drilling programs to identify gold distribution and geometry within the mine operation to allow timely mine planning.
  • Provide guidance to geological personnel to support their respective accountabilities (i.e. Mine Technicians)
  • Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Aeris Resources.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology
  • Mine Geologist with 3-5 years’ experience
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and team participation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work processes
  • Proficient use of mining software (Surpac, Vulcan, Leapfrog or Deswik)
  • Data management and QAQC reporting
  • Project management and completing feasibility studies
  • Awareness of Open Cut and Underground Mine design requirements
  • Understanding and application of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
