Are you a dual registered midwife nurse with a passion for high-acuity maternal critical care? Or are you a dual registered midwife nurse with critical care skills or have extensive nursing experience and want to combine both specialties? Look no further!

At The Mercy Hospital for women, we specialize in providing quality care for women with complex health issues and challenging pregnancies. Our team is seeking talented individuals like you to join our rotating model, where you'll have the opportunity to work in our Women's Emergency Department, Birthing Suite, Gynaecology, and High Dependency Unit with option to provide continuous care into the antenatal/ postnatal wards.
 
Here, you'll be caring for the high acuity women in our hospital, utilizing your specialized skills to provide the best possible care. We want to support you in growing these skills through hands-on experience and specialized training. We will support further learning opportunities in post graduate studies in maternal critical care.
 

What you’ll bring

  • Provide quality client-focused care to patients, their family and carers, using a holistic approach

  • Nurse and Midwifery Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (essential)

  • At least two years’ relevant experience as a Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse (essential)

  • Previous experience in acute general nursing (desirable)

  • Recent knowledge of all areas of midwifery practice and experience in working in Birthing Services, Emergency, Critical care and Gynaecological experience (desirable)

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, critical care (desirable)

  • Neonatal resuscitation, adult resuscitation, competency in RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Program or equivalent and completion of all other mandatory competencies upon commencement of employment

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization and problem-solving skills

  • The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and be able to build good working relationships to foster a collaborative approach to care

  • Work all rotational shifts

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
