About the role

We are looking for a Retail Branch Operations Manager to join us on a full time, permanent basis.

The Retail Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective planning and execution of retail operational activities to support the branch in achieving its financial growth targets. This role works closely with the Branch Manager and the Merchandise team, ensuring that operations align with business goals. The position may involve managing up to three direct reports and plays a crucial role in streamlining processes, optimizing resource utilization, and contributing to the overall success of the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational and commercial activities of the retail team, ensuring alignment with budget and branch plan, and meeting targets as outlined in the branch dashboard.
  • Contribute to the annual merchandise budgeting & forecasting process in collaboration with Branch, Area, and State Finance & Operations Managers.
  • Monitor branch performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage planned expenditure.
  • Oversee staff rostering, leave planning, training, and professional development for the branch team.
  • Drive marketing and promotional activities for branch products, while representing Elders at events, campaigns, and community forums.
  • Ensure and lead adherence to Workplace Health & Safety policies, and oversee safety requirements, including risk management, reporting, and staff training.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience with strong business management skills and a focus on retail operational planning and commercial outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost management, and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams, with a focus on achieving targets and fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Experience in agricultural or related industries is desirable, with a deep understanding of customer needs and priorities.
  • Relevant qualifications in business, agriculture, or related fields, with commitment to completing required training (e.g., Elders Leadership Development Program, AgSafe, FSRA Tier 2).
