Who are we?

As part of Thales Australia, Australian Munitions is the largest domestic manufacturer of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services including acid production and industrial waste treatment to Defence and commercial markets. This role operates on a 9 day fortnight typically between 6:30am – 3:30pm. Some overtime is available and there is a possibility of shift work in future. 

Your role:

Working at our Benalla site, on Yorta Yorta Land, your day to day responsibilities include:

• Fault finding, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities on complex equipment (Milling & Lathe Machinery)
• Repair, overhaul, and testing of equipment, including installation and fault diagnosis
• Interpretation of drawings and sketches
• Ad hoc manufacturing of materials and parts
• Participation in building, HSE Quality, and ISO audits and maintenance of effective and safe working practices
• Encouragement of continuous improvement in production and project activities
• Completion of risk assessments, hazard assessments, and on-the-job training of apprentices

Your experience:

• Holding an Australian recognised Trade Qualification & License
• Pneumatics & Hydraulics
• Prior experience with Late and Milling Machine operation
• High Risk Work licenses – Elevated work platform and forklift
• Experience in manufacturing environment
