The Role:

Our Mechanical Robotics Technician will work as part of a team to oversee and manage the safe and efficient operation of the terminals automated equipment, completing work to the highest standard and ensuring continual improvement of equipment reliability and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the safe operation of the Maintenance Facility within the context of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company determined safe. operation procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain an intimate knowledge of related operational features and ancillary devices related to the operation and function of the Maintenance Facility.
  • To accurately and promptly report any operational concerns regarding technical and/or mechanical failure and/or damage.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication between all levels of employees and others in regard to technical and operational functions.
  • Adhere to and maintain any direct instruction issued by the Head of Engineering.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, and emergency break down repairs on ASC, STS, ACC, ALP and any ancillary equipment.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and general repair work on ASC, STS, ACC, ALP and any ancillary equipment.
  • Carry out Preventative Maintenance (PM) as required in compliance with PM.

Key requirements we are looking for:

  • Australian or recognized mechanical trade qualification.
  • Forklift license.
  • Elevated work platform license.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics/electronic and/or diesel engines.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of using Microsoft Windows applications/DOS based programs.
  • Sound communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Minimum 10 years post apprenticeship experience specializing In fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance servicing on heavy plant e.g. earth moving equipment, heavy duty Forklift trucks, container handling equipment, mining equipment, marine equipment,
  • Specialized experience in hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions.
  • Experience working on a rotating, shift work roster.
