Purpose of Role: We are searching for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to

assist with repairing and maintaining products delivered to the Service Centre and in Customer operations.

Offering a family friendly Monday to Friday roster and much more:

  • Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm

  • Friday 6am - 12pm

  • Overtime available weekly

  • All uniforms, tools and PPE provided.

  • Above industry standard superannuation of 12%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stripping, repairing and reporting on pumps at our Service Centre

  • Maintaining and repairing all products in accordance with the Service Centre Quality Manual.

  • Making recommendations for improvements to current products, services and procedures.

  • Be fully and actively involved in implementing the Weir Production System at their Rebuild Centre

  • Visiting mine sites during shutdown periods to provide additional support. Stripping, repairing and reporting on Customer pumps delivered to the Rockhampton Service Centre.

  • Occasionally, stripping, repairing and reporting on pumps at Customer operations.

  • Occasionally travelling to and from Customer operations, with periods away from home.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

  • Cert III – Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning 

  • Experience in mechanical fitting in a workshop and onsite environments

  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of fitters

  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills

  • High Risk Fork lift ticket - required

  • Overhead crane & doggers ticket - highly desirable

  • Current Drivers License
