About the opportunity:

We are seeking expressions of interest for upcoming opportunities within the Defence Maritime Domain. As a Mechanical Engineer at Bastion Defence, you will provide a range of technical advice to our customers relating to mechanical ships systems. This could include:

• Providing technical advice to the customer relating to Maritime sustainment and or maintenance activities.
• Participating in Engineering change reviews.
• Participating in Engineering design reviews.
• Performing Engineering services within Defence Sustainment or Acquisition requirements related to Platform Systems.
• Supporting project milestones and mandated system reviews.
• Reviewing technical documentation and provide technical reports.
• Providing verification and validation activities as required.

About you

• You'll need experience in a Defence project setting - preferably Maritime activities (if you don't have Defence Maritime experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you).
• An Australian Citizen with a current or recently inactive AGSVA clearance.
• A BACH degree Mechanical / Mechatronic or similar.
• Self-starter who takes the initiative.
• Excellent communication both written and verbal.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work either individually or as part of a broader team.
