Camden Hire are seeking skilled and dedicated mechanics to join our dynamic team at Camden Hire, a leading hire and rental organization within the industry. As a mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet of Access equipment, ensuring they are always in a one condition for our valued customers.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of equipment, including boom lifts, scissor lifts, lighting towers and telehandlers . This includes diagnosing issues, troubleshooting, and ensuring equipment are safe to operate.

Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and filter replacements. Implement maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of our equipment.

Efficient Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate tools and technology. Identify issues promptly and implement effective solutions to minimize vehicle downtime.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and maintenance activities using our digital systems. Generate reports on equipment conditions, maintenance history, and recommendations for improvements or replacements.

Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on equipment before and after rentals to ensure they meet safety standards. Address customer complaints regarding vehicle performance promptly and provide effective resolutions.

Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory team to track spare parts, tools, and equipment. Maintain a well-organized inventory and promptly report any shortages or needs for restocking.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during repairs, maintenance, and test drives. Ensure that all vehicles meet legal requirements and follow industry best practices.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic in a similar role, preferably within the access rental or equipment rental industry.

Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in a wide range of equipment. Strong knowledge of engine diagnostics, brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.

Certifications: Light vehicle mechanic or similar as a minimum.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing inspections and repairs, with a keen eye for identifying potential issues or irregularities.

Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and find practical and efficient solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Time Management: Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.

Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and management. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

Safety Consciousness: Deep commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
