What are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated Leading Hand Fitter to join our rapidly growing team. Initial focus will be hands on running the day-to-day duties, working closely with management to successfully complete site awarded contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression and would strongly suit a self-motivated person.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of all project related matters including mobilisation, site meetings and solving project issues.
  • Assist in the inspection of work areas regularly for potential hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Supervise operations associated with supply, production control and quality assurance.
  • Supervise the delivery and distribution of materials on site.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for:
  • Allocation of resources
  • Scheduling
  • Coordination of staff and sub-contractors
  • Evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions
  • Resolving project issues; and
  • Evaluating and implementing change orders.
  • Complete projects by planning, organising, and controlling projects, completing quality inspections, supervising subcontractors and staff.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Motivate staff and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformance.
  • Additional duties as requested.

Essential Criteria

  • At least 5 years’ of Defence or Commercial marine experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, in addition to having exceptional communication and project management skills.
  • Possess an understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and protocols with regards to WHS.
  • The ability to interpret drawings & specifications.
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Construction Induction (White Card) certification required
  • Work Safety at Heights (RIIWHS204D) certification required
  • Confined Space training
  • Other Site-Specific training requirements as required
