Responsibilities

Reporting to the divisional Process Engineering Manager, based on current and upcoming study, design and project opportunities this field is in growing demand within our portfolio and looking for someone to join us on this growth journey guiding best practice in this sector of process engineering. 

Due to recent success we are commencing early works with a large scale Greenfields battery metal facility based in Europe. This project will be the largest and most sustainable of its kind, leading the way for the development of an integrated battery value chain in Europe, establishing leading technology in their processing methodology for sustainable and efficient production.

This role will see you join a project team for one of Europe largest and most sustainable Greenfields battery metal processing facilities, early works are commencing now as we head into EPCM in September/October 2024. This project has been identified as a significant steppingstone for Europe's establishment of intergraded value chain the batter metal production space. A complex and technically advanced processing methodology this project will provide opportunity to broaden both your skills technically and professionally as you engage with varied international parties.

 As a Lead Process Engineer, you will:

  • Deliver successful outcomes for our clients and customers to help them achieve technical and commercial success in their studies, projects, and operations.
  • Develop and provide SME guidance within the area of hydrometallurgical engineering.
  • Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities.
  • Plan, execute and analyse bench-scale and pilot-plant metallurgical test work programs to support process designs.
  • Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in design reviews.

As a highly qualified engineer with technical expertise in the field of Hydrometallurgy your passion and knowledge will also see you have the following skills/attributes. 

  • Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institute in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in hydrometallurgical plant design. Experience with commodities such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper and rare-earths would be highly regarded
  • Appropriate experience in the mining or minerals processing industry
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • Experience with process simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM would be highly regarded
