Wood Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranging from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally – Australia through to Europe, Middle East Africa and Asia.

 



Responsibilities

Reporting to the Functional Manager in dual line of Engineering Manager for nominated EPCM project. You will be an integral role in our team, bringing your knowledge insight and passion for delivering quality and efficiency four our client's developments.

Due to recent success, we are commencing early works with a large-scale Greenfields battery metal facility based in Europe. This project will be the largest and most sustainable of its kind, leading the way for the development of an integrated battery value chain in Europe, establishing leading technology in their processing methodology for sustainable and efficient production.

This role will see you join a project team for one of Europe largest and most sustainable Greenfields battery metal processing facilities, early works are commencing now as we head into EPCM in September 2024. This project has been identified as a significant steppingstone for Europe's establishment of intergraded value chain the batter metal production space. A complex and technically advanced processing methodology this project will provide opportunity to broaden both your skills technically and professionally as you engage with varied international parties. 
 

As a key part of the Wood team, you will be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to: - 

  • The overall production of mechanical engineering deliverables such as specification, calculations, technical evaluations, reports and drawings 
  • Providing technical support across the business including to on-site construction, estimating, procurement and project departments – 
  • Provides technical advice on design processes, construction methods and other technical areas 
  • Advises on the development of new engineering methods and participates in short and long-range planning.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to a team, potentially support in coaching, recruitment and retention activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Senior/Lead experienced in the detailed engineering and execution of medium to large scale EPCM projects in the critical minerals sector, with some experience in hydrometallurgical developments.   Your passion for working in dynamic and agile industries will see you drive a collaborative and cohesive working relationship between our clients and internal teams.

You will also have: -

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution 
  • Member of Engineers Australia, or willing to work toward membership - Design experience in wet and/or dry mineral processing plants, preferable not essential
  • Site experience either in construction, commissioning or operations, is desired but not essential
  • Prior experience within cross alignment of mechanical /piping/pumps and hydraulic design engineering would be a desired skill set for wet plant processing. 
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively and identify technical and safety based risks, with commitment to HSE
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs . Ability to work to a time frame and deliver on budget
