Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Global Estimating Manager you will join an Australia wide team that is based in Perth & Brisbane. Our teams work collaboratively across a diverse range of engineering packages from conceptual studies through to EPCM delivery for local & international developments.

Based in either Perth or Brisbane, you will work closely with the wider studies team who are based in Perth, being a key integral focal point for our Australia wide team, responsible for the development of project estimates across key phases from DFS, PFS and scoping studies this may see you be focal point for multiple projects. 

In addition to the following duties/areas of the following areas;

  • Responsible and accountable for the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Acts as focal point for all aspects of estimating support to the project/contract team and client, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the estimates
  • Liaise with other Project Controls disciplines to ensure projects budgets and schedules are developed to reflect the structure and content of the approved project cost estimate 
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions to maintain awareness of the requirements and costs of labour, plant and equipment, materials, subcontracts, offices, IT, and other provisions, to ensure these are accurately reflected in the project cost estimate
  • Ensure estimates are prepared in compliance with Wood processes, procedures, and guidelines


Qualifications

About You

We are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator who has built a successful career working within the minerals & metals sector, with balanced experience in the EPCM environment delivering in a multi-disciplinary capacity.

In addition, we are seeking the following attributes/skills.

  • Ideally prior experience in working within an engineering consultancy/EPCM leading estimation within medium to major scale Greenfields and brownfields projects.
  • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management, in conjunction with key project management principals.
  • Ability to work autonomously, whilst building collaborative and cohesive working relationships.
  • Potential background within Mechanical or SMP trade, that ha transitioned into estimating in a project environment with mining or O&G infrastructure projects
  • Prior relative experience working within studies, from conceptual to preliminary phases.
