Job Description

The opportunity

The HD Diesel Mechanic reports to the Head Mechanic and is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and performing maintenance, repairs, and services on Geotech Group's plant and equipment, with a focus on piling rigs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase necessary parts and supplies to ensure efficient operation, including critical spare.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and perform services, repairs, and maintenance on our plant and equipment, including piling rigs.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe working condition, accompanied by a Plant Hazard Risk Assessment (PHRA)
  • Respond promptly to plant and equipment breakdowns, organizing repairs either in the workshop or onsite.
  • Inspection and Auditing: Inspect damaged equipment, audit repairs, and back-charge repairs to projects where appropriate.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic with experience working on earthmoving and construction equipment,
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrics.
  • Rigging (Intermediate) HRW License or Dogging HRW License highly desirable BUT not essential
  • Current Driver License (Heavy Combination Driver License preferable).
