Your role at St John of God St John of God Geelong Hospital

You will be responsible for the deliverance of high-quality general nursing care under the direction of Division 1 Registered Nurse.

We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses to join our highly skilled team on our acute medical oncology, haematology and palliative care unit.

Ward 3 North cares for patients at all stages from diagnosis, to complex treatment and acute admissions. You will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and the coordination and supervision of care delivered by junior staff and students.

The Position

• Works in consultation and co-operation with team members to provide care according to the physical and emotional needs of the patient and their families.

• Discharge planning is initiated on patient’s admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.

• Maintains clear, concise, accurate and timely nursing documentation

• Employs self-management strategies to maintain own health and wellbeing.

• Participate in, contribute to and implement quality improvement and risk management into all aspects of service

• The caregiver, recognising St John of God Health Care commitment to responsible environmental stewardship, will support the organisational Environmental goals in performance of all duties.

You will have current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse, with the ability to solve problems and demonstrate commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

Previous experience within a hospital environment and Oncology experience will be highly regarded.

• Salary: $59,195 to $78,123 (pro rata if part time), plus 11.5% superannuation

• Part time position available
