STUDENT SUCCESS COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

(Full-time 6-month fixed-term contract)

 

Overview of role

ILSC Education Group is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing language schools, known for the quality, rigour and variety of programs that are tailored to best meet international student needs and interests. ILSC Programs include General English, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS Preparation, Cambridge Preparation, and a variety of engaging Elective classes.

 

 

In addition to their teaching, Student Success Coordinators fulfill extra duties to further support existing ILSC & Greystone students in their academic journey by providing guidance and increasing awareness of our ILSC language courses and Greystone College vocational business programs. Working closely with the rest of the Student Success Team, they will support initiatives on campus which will help improve the overall growth of student enrolments, as well as feeding back ways to improve the student experience at their location.

 

Student Success Coordinators will represent ILSC’s core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos, and participating actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups.

 

Student Success Coordinators are supported by the ILSC Head Teachers, the Student Success Team Leader and the Student & Community Outreach Team, report to the campus Director of Studies and National Academic Director, and are engaged under the terms of The National Employment Standards (NES) and the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020.


Job Duties

The Teacher duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Teach a variety of multimodal (face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid) ELICOS classes (teaching roster and total weekly hours to vary based on operational need)
  • Work collaboratively with ILSC Head Teachers and other ILSC Teachers
  • Prepare and upload clear lesson plans prior to each lesson
  • Perform periodical analyses of student goals and needs against set learning outcomes
  • Embrace a principled communicative methodological approach
  • Engage students in their learning through a student-centred teaching philosophy
  • Enhance classroom learning and teaching by implementing new resources and technologies
  • Provide students with regular formative feedback including writing tasks and summative academic progress reports in accordance with ILSC guidelines
  • Be alert to and escalate student welfare concerns as appropriate
  • Attend and actively participate in Session Meetings & Professional Development Sessions
  • Actively contribute to ILSC’s positive learning ethos and inclusive, collegiate staffroom culture
  • Commit to reflective practice (self/peer observations, engaging with ELT literature and trends)
  • Participate in and represent ILSC in SIGs and CoPs
  • Other related duties or projects as determined by the campus Director of Studies

 

The Student Success Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Actively increase awareness of Greystone qualifications among ELICOS students and support them in their enquires about Greystone
  • Work closely with the Student Success Team Leader to assist the tracking and reporting of graduating students' progress and the growth of student enrolments
  • Collaborate with the Greystone College Academic Team to promote Greystone events and workshops
  • Attend orientations, events, workshops and graduations to assist in collecting media, including student testimonials and related content, for distribution on social media and the wider community
  • Follow up with designated students to support the Student Success Team in converting leads into new enrolments and extensions of enrollments into packaged programs
  • Collect and relay feedback from prospective and current students on trends, needs, and changes to assist in ongoing program development and student experience initiatives


  • Coordinate and work with student ambassadors to cross-promote the college to students across ELICOS and Vocational programs
  • Assist in the Sales Team in networking events, marketing events, and student experiences to promote vocational pathways
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve the student experience locally
  • Undertake other related duties or projects as determined by the Student Success Team Leader


Key Selection Criteria


Education and Experience

 

  • Recognised Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Cambridge CELTA or Cert IV TESOL (or equivalent)
  • Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practices
  • Experience with online learning management systems and multimodal delivery
  • Demonstrated focus on continuous professional development (English Australia CPD Framework and NEAS CPD Points highly regarded)
  • Experience working in Sales and/or Marketing (desirable)
  • Experience or interest in ILSC’s student activities and community engagement and initiatives
