About the role

The Teacher will plan and deliver English language and settlement topics within the EAL framework. The Teacher ELICOS will plan and deliver English language classes that develop learners’ English language and study skills for vocational or higher education studies within set timeframes.

Main responsibilities include:

• Prepare high quality lessons that address individual learning needs and pathway goals

• Deliver high-quality, innovative and engaging English language training

• Monitor, evaluate and assess student English language progression and successful course completion

• Work as part of a team, sharing teaching ideas and approaches

• Contribute to the development of learning and assessment resources

Skills and experience include:

• An Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent and a post graduate TESOL Qualification that includes at least 6 hours of supervised teaching practicum in TESOL

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent

• Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• National Police Check no more than 12 months old

• Experience in teaching English Students at a range of different levels

• Experience in assessing students and providing feedback

• Experience in developing course curricula, planning and delivery

• Experience in giving appropriate feedback sensitively

• Demonstrated ability to use initiative

• Ability to work in a team
