This role will support Blackmores Production Department strategy and objectives by ensuring the timely, accurate and efficient for general upkeep of all production's related equipment and electrical system, as well as mechanical setup, change over and operation of packaging lines, equipments and processes while adhering to safety codes and regulations.

This role is based onsite at our head office and packaging facility in Warriewood, Sydney.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maximise production efficiency by minimising downtime and micro-stops caused by production machinery and equipment.
  • Identify faults root cause and perform breakdown repairs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to identify the obsoleted electrical parts, justify and plan for replacement.
  • Conduct electrical preventative maintenance by inspecting, testing and maintaining packing line machinery, equipment and associated processes.
  • Perform general plant and building maintenance work and routine machinery inspection, including but not limited to, air compressors, air handling units, chillers, cooling tower and others.
  • Identify opportunities and provide suggestions to improve the efficiency, reliability and operation of packing line machinery, equipment and associated processes. 
  • Respond to minor and major electrical works on production site including but not limited to DC motors, VSDs, HMI and others.
  • Inspect and report on all DBs throughout the production and other potential electrical issues that require attention.
  • Supervise contractors onsite for correct electrical services and repairs, provide test protocols and examine the completion according to the document.

Who are you?

  • Previous experience as an electrician in a manufacturing or packaging environment
  • Holder of an unrestricted NSW electrical trade certificate.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, food or FMCG manufacturing companies are well regarded.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Working knowledge on CMMS, robotics, HMI, JDE software (ERP) and PLC programming.
  • Knowledge with ordering and maintaining of spare parts, electrical components overhaul and working on the SCADA system. 
  • Strong problem solving capabilities, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement mindset.
