Community Aged Care Volunteer

Who are we looking for?

Salam, Namaste, Hola, Hello and welcome to Community Aged Care volunteering, where our invaluable volunteers help us to support older South Australians to remain independent in their community and homes. We are seeking warm and friendly people with a passion for helping others to join our amazing team. 

Multiple Volunteer positions available across metropolitan Adelaide.

Roles include:

• In Home Social Connections – be matched with customers in the community to engage with one-on-one visits in their home.
• Social Programs support - assist our workers by engaging with customers while enjoying arts and crafts, games, cooking activities and social outings.
• Phone Support - Connect over the phone to pre-identified customers providing friendly conversation and social connection.
• Phone Surveys - Connect over the phone to pre-identified customers, seeking feedback through surveys on their current Community Aged Care services and experiences
• Administration - provide Community Aged Care administration and program support in an office-based setting.
• Hospital and Respite Visiting - provide customers with much needed friendly conversation and social interaction while in hospital or when they are taking a break in respite.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Directly or indirectly supporting older South Australians face to face, over the phone or in an office environment within our Community Aged Care program.
• Supporting a dedicated team of professionals in the ongoing support of older South Australians to continue to be active, independent and engaged in the community.

What do you need to bring?

• A warm and friendly demeaner
• Ability to engage effectively within a team environment in accordance with AnglicareSA’s values
• Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental, respectful approach
• Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• Report to the volunteer coordinator any areas of concern regarding the customers you are working with

Who is AnglicareSA?
