As a Cloud Engineer to play a key role in further developing RAC's Cloud and DevOps capabilities. You will work on projects that will directly benefit and enhance our member experience, guide and implement automation initiatives in software development, operations and services in addition to improving communication and collaboration.

What will you be doing?

  • Implementing Secure Solutions: Implement designs and solutions that ensure secure and scalable environments.
  • Demonstrating Technical Expertise: Demonstrate high technical skills and best practices within project teams from conception to completion.
  • Supporting Project Design: Support the lead in scoping and designing work, taking ownership of certain features up to deployment.
  • Adopting New Technologies: Adopt new technologies and participate in platform modernisation and innovation efforts.
  • Implementing Security Measures: Implement security controls, facilitate security assessments, and enhance our platform security posture.
  • Mentoring and Leading: Mentor, guide, and lead other DevOps and Software Engineers.
  • Challenging Conventions: Respectfully challenge "the way it’s always been done" and support improved outcomes for members.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline are desirable, along with expert level certification in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Public Cloud Solutions: Experience in collaboratively designing and operating systems on public cloud infrastructure such as Azure or AWS.
  • Technical Solutioning and Delegation: Ability to address technical topics and delegate tasks effectively to peers.
  • Communicating Technical Challenges: Skill in communicating technical problems clearly to peers and stakeholders.
  • Utilisation of Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management and automation tools, such as Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC.
  • System Administration Experience: Demonstrated experience in a system administration role, managing both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Meet Operational Demands: Availability to meet operational working hours, participate in reasonable overtime, and engage in a shared on-call roster as required.
