About the role

We are seeking an efficient and effective Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment of the kitchens, bathrooms, foyer, offices, worship hall and meeting room at the Corps, Family Store and Philip Street sites, in line with the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.

You will successfully

  • Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, bathrooms, common areas are maintained for the health and wellbeing of clients and staff.
  • Ensure chemicals and other domestic products are stored safely and securely to meet the relevant MSDS guidelines & used in accordance with product guidelines.
  • Notify Office Administrator when cleaning products are requiring replacement.
  • Wear appropriate PPE as required, in line with TSA policy and procedure
  • Report any hazards, near misses and incidents to line management and through relevant internal systems in line with TSA policy and procedure
  • Any other duties as relevant to the role as required by line management
  • Polish Family Store floor once per month (This will be additional time, over and above stated hours below).

You will have

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Hygiene and Cleaning materials and methods
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) regulations and storage of chemicals
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Physical fitness and energy required to respond to overall work demands.

This is a part-time (15hrs per week), permanent position located in Gladstone, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Miscellaneous Award Level 2.
