Our Workshop in Terrey Hills

CDC NSW has 11 workshops across greater Sydney and the Hunter region. Our workshops are large, modern and well equipped with all up to date tools and equipment our teams need. Safety is our number one priority. Our equipment is well maintained and we are proud to hold both our ISO 9001 (Quality) as well as ISO 55000 (Assets) standards.

We operate 7 days a week and allow for flexible rosters and shifts to suit all lifestyles. We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of makes and models including diesel products from Volvo, Scania, Iveco and Mercedes right through to the latest in zero emission and electric buses.

The Role:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in buses, including wiring, lighting, accessories, and electronic components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems, including battery checks, alternator testing, and voltage inspections.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Install, configure, and test new electrical components and accessories, such as radios, GPS systems, cameras, and ticketing machines.
  • Upgrade existing electrical systems to improve performance, functionality, and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards for electrical installations and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and diagnostic findings.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management review, including recommendations for preventive maintenance and system improvements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing electrical work, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Follow CDC NSW's policies and procedures regarding the handling, disposal, and storage of hazardous materials and waste.

About you:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in a commercial or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for electrical testing and analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between work locations as needed.
