Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

You will be responsible and effective team member, assisting in the overall clinical management of the ward and responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by caregivers in accordance with the Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia Scope

of Practice and deputises for and assists the Nursing Unit Manager.

Our obstetrics service offers flexible medical care before, during and after the birth. Our holistic approach to care is complemented by advanced medical technology.

Our obstetricians work within a highly skilled maternity care team which includes experienced midwives, neonatal and postnatal nurses, paediatricians and anaesthetists.

The successful candidate(s) will have:

  • In the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager, the ANUM assumes responsibilities for the utilisation of personnel and management of unit in collaboration with After Hours Manager.

  • Assists and facilitates the effective communication of the Unit.

  • Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits, statistics, staff Β performance management and productivity analysis data.

  • Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity. Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or After Hours Manager according to changes inΒ  levels.

  • Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and demonstrate ability to develop and build effective nursing, medical and

interdisciplinary relationships and teams.

To succeed you will have knowledge and skills of the principles of infection management and commitment to on-going education and self-directed learning.

  • Salary $107,721.42Β  to $111,330.83 (pro rata for part time), plus 11.5% superannuation

  • Permanent Part time position available
