The opportunity:
This role is specifically for working on Sea World’s wooden roller coaster “Leviathan”. As a Carpenter specialising in timber roller coasters, your primary objective is to ensure the safety, functionality and upkeep of the coaster through ongoing inspection and maintenance, adhering to VRTP safety standards.

Duties:
• Complete daily pre-opening inspections in accordance with procedures and work orders as required.
• Perform schedule maintenance tasks such as replacing timber components, tightening bolts, and repairing structural elements to ensure the coaster operates safely and efficiently.
• Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards to eliminate the risk of accidents or injuries for park guests and staff.
• Inspect and identify defects in compliance with the Timber Acceptance Criteria and maintain detailed records.
• Follow workshop procedures and maintain workplace in a clean and organised manner to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any OH&S issues to the Engineering Supervisor for actioning to ensure staff and guest safety and collaborate with other maintenance and operational teams.
• Work effectively within a team to promote a positive working environment.

Skills and Experience:
• Trade certified Carpenter with post trade experience, ideally with timber roller coasters, essential.
• Industrial rope access qualification highly regarded.
• Ability to safely work at heights.
• Elevated Work Platform license, desirable.
• Working at heights certificate.
• Forklift license, desirable.
• Basic electrical safety awareness & understanding.
• Construction white card, essential.
• Tele-handler licence, desirable.
• Available to work a rotating roster, including day shift, afternoon shift and weekend shift.
• Ability to follow directions & communicate effectively.
• High level of physical fitness.
