About the team

 

The Y Schools team is on a mission to support our Young People with their education is a safe and inclusive environment. We do this by having amazing teachers, youth workers, counsellors and curriculum to create an environment that makes people want to be at school and learn.

 

Teachers play a critical role in our schools and the engagement of our young people. Working with other amazingly successful peers, you will deliver curriculum and help our young people achieve their educational goals. This is not just a normal teaching position; it is a role where you make a difference every day to young people that have complex backgrounds and different learning abilities. Even a simple conversation can make a huge change to our young people.

 

The Senior Ipswich Campus are in search for our next classroom hero as a Teacher on a Permanent Full-Time basis to support in our School based in Ipswich, QLD.

What will my time look like?

 

  • Delivering academic and wellbeing programs to students.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students; and
  • Support the Head of Campus/School in the operation of the campus to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational objectives.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment which is learner focused, safe, supportive and aligned to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with like-minded peers to plan, write and deliver structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student.
  • Assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning.
  • Supporting our incredible young people with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.
  • Support our young people to know success!

 

Am I a good match?

 

  • Hold a relevant University degree, current Queensland College of Teachers Registration, First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications
  • Experience in Maths and Science Essential Subjects
  • Year 11 and 12 Experience Preferred
  • Knowledge to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential.
