About the Role

Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a full-time Teacher Librarian to join our Library Department.  

As a member of the Library staff, the Teacher Librarian will promote the application of, access to, and evaluation of academic information and research. We are seeking a teacher librarian who will continue to develop our library as a dynamic and welcoming space for learning.

Your key tasks will include:

  • participating in the teaching of research and information skills in collaboration with Academic Staff for Years 7-9
  • cooperatively planning and conducting student orientation programs
  • promoting the role of information services and the library as a leading resource and technology centre
  • contributing to the maintenance of the designated library pages on the learning management system
  • conducting in-service programs, approaches to research and information skill development programs for both staff and students.


Skills And Experiences

You will also have: 

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services - Teacher Librarian, or equivalent
  • an understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. copyright law) relating to this position
  • extensive knowledge of teaching strategies to achieve optimal learning outcomes for students
  • excellent technological literacy
  • current Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility to apply).
