About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educator for the position of Indigenous Teacher Assistant to join our team at Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, Gladstone. This is a term time contract position for 11hpw, for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant, until 6 December 2024. 

Selection Criteria
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.

About You 

The successful applicant will have an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic education. In addition you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position
  • Current Driver’s Licence
