On-site
Shepparton, Australia
$95,593 - $123,690 yearly
Introduction

Keen to get stuck into a permanent, full-time career with a progressive, independent school with a growing national network of campuses? Our schools are located in areas of socio-economic disadvantage, and we work with students who have found it difficult to engage with mainstream education for a variety of reasons. Our aim is to reengage students with learning, improve literacy and numeracy skills and focus on the next step in the learning journey for each student: be that a desire to return to mainstream, pursue a TAFE/RTO pathway, or to get ready for the workforce.

Our highly experienced teaching team is supported by a Head of School, Assistant Heads of School, Education Support Assistants, and Welfare Officers.

In 2024 our first year out salary for a 4 or 5 year trained teacher is $95,593 and $99,103 base plus superannuation respectively and this increases with experience to the top of the scale at $123,690. As we are a registered charity you can also take advantage of our generous salary packaging to boost your take home pay. Please note that this is not a contract role but a permanent position.

The role may commence in Term 4, 2024 or Term 1, 2025.

Indie School provides students the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment using individualised learning and education plans, tailored to each student's own education and life circumstances. Smaller class sizes allow students greater opportunity to identify their strengths and work to improve areas in which they lack confidence.

The greatest difference between Indie School and many other alternative education settings is that our foundations lie in Adult Education philosophies. Choice, independence, mutual respect and accountability all have a significant role to play. In return for higher levels of self-responsibility, the students can enjoy some greater freedoms.
