ABOUT THE ROLE
The Stomal Therapy CNC will provide high quality care to patients requiring ostomy formation and be involved in preoperative siting and education, ongoing coordination and management of patient care, patient and family education and effective discharge planning. The Stomal Therapy Nurse is an active member of the multidisciplinary team and contributes expertise to patient care by engaging key stakeholders in all stages of the patient journey and will work across the entire continuum of care including specialist clinics, pre admission clinics and the inpatient units.

You will be responsible for:

  • Promoting best practice and initiating quality improvement activities
  • Developing educational and counselling skill
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure excellent patient care.Participating in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance your knowledge and skills.

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Current AHPRA
  • Post graduate qualifications in Stomal Therapy Nursing
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
