About the Role
We are seeking a Sports Coordinator and Teacher of Health and Physical Education who is passionate about sports education and dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive sports programs. Commencing 2025, this is an ongoing full time teaching position with a leadership role as Sports Coordinator, carrying a three-year tenure.

As the Sports Coordinator, you will oversee the comprehensive management and coordination of AGSV and inter-school secondary sports. You will be responsible for organising all facets of sports activities, including scheduling, logistics, and the overall management of the AGSV/Inter-School sports program to ensure their smooth operation and success.

Your Everyday
Working closely with the Director of Sport and Head of Pedagogy – Health and PE, the successful candidate will:

  • Prepare and conduct impactful Health and PE classes, inspiring a passion for physical activity and wellbeing in students from Years 7-12,
  • implement evidence-based teaching practices, creating relevant and engaging learning experiences, and tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of students,
  • promote student wellbeing by fostering a supportive environment and providing opportunities for meaningful participation in physical education and health activities,
  • oversee the scheduling, logistics, and management of AGSV and inter-school sports activities, ensuring smooth operations,
  • allocate and manage staff resources, including external coaches, and ensure teams are properly placed in competitions,
  • advocate for student participation in sports, fostering a strong sense of community and engagement across the campus.

About You

  • Current Full Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • experience in teaching and relevant post-graduate studies or working towards further qualifications in health and physical education,
  • proven experience in school sports leadership, coaching, and management,
  • outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build a strong school community,
  • demonstrated resilience and ability to manage multiple demands effectively.
